Patrick Buffkin

Patrick Buffkin practices primarily in the areas of energy and utilities law and other areas of administrative law.
Patrick is certified as a specialist in Utilities Law by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization and worked on the Staff of the North Carolina Utilities Commission prior to joining Bailey & Dixon. Prior to joining the Commission staff, Patrick worked for North Carolina’s electric cooperatives in legal and government affairs roles. Early in his career Patrick represented clients at the General Assembly under the mentorship of legendary lobbyist and former North Carolina Senator Zeb Alley.
Patrick is active in civic affairs and public service. He is currently serving as the District A Member of the Raleigh City Council, representing most of North Central Raleigh. Patrick is also a proud member of the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh and a supporter of local animal rescue efforts, among other causes.
Patrick is from Kernersville, North Carolina and moved to Raleigh to attend N.C. State University. He lives in Raleigh with his wife Rachael, two dogs Dixon and Lily, and cat Jones. Outside of work and his public service, Patrick can be found exploring Raleigh’s greenways and parks with Rachael and the dogs.
